Difference between Domestic system and Factory System

 


Domestic System

  • In domestic system production of goods is carried in homes of workers.

  • In domestic system simple tools are used for production

  • In domestic system goods were not of standard quality

  • The goods are produced at small scale in domestic system

  • The division of labour is simple

  • The relations of production are informal

  • There is lack of supervision of work done by workers

  • Production of goods is time taking

  • There is no automation of production system.






Factory system

  • Goods are produced in factories which is owned by the capitalist class

  • Goods are produced with the machine

  • Standard quality goods are produced which means that all goods are of same size, shape and colour as they are produced by machines.

  • The goods are produced on large scale as they are produced by machine

  • The division of labour is complex

  • The relations of production are formal

  • There is strict supervision of working class in factories

  • Goods are produced at faster rate

  • There is automation in production system
